Everyone hates
imperfections on their body, it doesn't matter where they came from or where
they are, and pregnancy is no different. Our skin gets stretched to what seems
to be the point of no return and we are often left with stretch marks.
The skin can only
stretch so far so fast, and when it does you are left with stretch marks, tiny
tears that are under the skin. While very few people don't get stretch marks,
others might get ones that look very deep and are very purple.
The severity of the
stretch marks you get will all depend on the elasticity of your skin.
As time goes on,
stretch marks will not appear as deep or as purple. They will start to
diminish, but will only go so far.
However, once you
have stretch marks, there is no way to get rid of them without surgery. They
are there for life, but there are ways to decrease the probability and severity
of those stretch marks. What you do before you get the stretch marks is what
will make all the difference.
To reduce the risk
of stretch marks from pregnancy, exfoliate in the shower. Use a product that has
at least a moderate exfoliator and moisturizes as well. A good body scrub will
work very well for this. This will allow all the dead, hard skin to be removed.
After you shower
and throughout the day, moisturize. Any area of the body where stretch marks might
appear needs to be moisturized on a regular basis. Use a lotion that contains
elastin or promotes the elasticity of the skin. If the lotion contains elastin
it will usually state so right on the front of the bottle.
The stomach is not
the only area that needs to be moisturized. Other areas that stretch marks are
the sides of your back close to your belly, breasts, hips and the buttocks.
If you do these two
things on a continual basis through your pregnancy, you will reduce the risk of
getting stretch marks and if you do get some, they will not appear as bad.
Once your pregnancy
is over, there is a way to diminish the look of stretch marks. It may not be
for everyone, but tanning will lessen the appearance but will not do anything
for getting rid of them.
Of course after
time, the appearance of stretch marks will lessen and in some cases disappear.
There are many
items on the market that claim to get rid of stretch marks and scars, but they
are nothing more than a moisturizing lotion that contains elastin, and
sometimes nothing at all and just simply do not work.
If you get stretch
marks, don't worry about them. Other than surgery there is nothing that will
completely get rid of them. They are nothing to be ashamed of and women all
over the world have them. Just think, when you kids are older, you can jokingly
blame them for the stretch marks
Fortunately,
there are a few things you can do to diminish and even prevent the appearance
of baby beauty marks.

How long do
pregnancy stretch marks take to fade?
The good news is
that stretch marks usually become considerably less noticeable about
six to 12 months after childbirth. The pigmentation fades and they
generally become lighter than the surrounding skin (the color will vary
depending on your skin color), but their texture will remain the same.
Does
Vaseline remove stretch marks?
Can Vaseline Be
Used To Fade Old Stretch Marks? To a certain extent, yes. Vaseline
moisturizes the skin and encourages the production of new, healthy skin cells.
The more healthy cells, the more faded the stretch mark appears, though using
Vaseline alone to fade stretch marks will take years.
